The Viparis annual convention obtains the LEAD label with Fleur de Mets Receptions

Chosen by VIPARIS as catering partner for their annual convention (December 2023), we had the opportunity to work on the Sustainable Ambition Event (LEAD) Label of the event.

Created by Green Event with SGS, the world leader in testing, inspection and certification, LEAD makes it possible to qualify a sustainable event based on a benchmark of excellence.

LEAD is the first label that evaluates the results of an event in terms of eco-responsibility. It is a robust and credible sign of recognition, delivered by an independent third party, attesting to the reality of the efforts and good practices in the design of the events.

We therefore worked with our client (on the reception part) on the three areas of ambition of the label, ZERO WASTE, ZERO NET CARBON and POSITIVE SOCIAL IMPACT to design an eco-responsible convention.

On all three measures and the 6 criteria corresponding to the “catering” scope of the LEAD, we have committed to the actions described below, in line with our vision of the reception with positive impact :

Zero single-use containers
100% Recycled biowaste
Redistribution of surplus food

🌳 ZERO NET CARBON AMBITION
Carbon footprint of the reception measured
Low carbon cocktail less than 7% meat & fish

🤝Ambition POSITIVE SOCIAL IMPACT
10% service personnel with disabilities
Balance F/H respected
Local gastronomy more than 50% local & labeled

Note that the LEAD label can only be obtained upstream of the event. It therefore implies compliance with the commitments made by the organizers. The advantage of this early labeling is that it can be highlighted during the event. An argument that will encourage all stakeholders to adopt a responsible attitude!

The VIPARIS convention has been labeled LEAD Gold: The event validated all the criteria, the event is exemplary.
